Come spend the day fly fishing with Alan Hobson and enjoy a hosted Wild Fly Fishing in the Karoo experience.

The experience includes access to the fishing waters and fishing with Alan Hobson.  Alan will assist to get you started to fish the waters in the Somerset East area, and fish with you during the day.

The costs do not include rod and gate fees, tackle hire, food and drink.

Terms & Conditions:

  • Should tackle / equipment be damaged or broken, you will be liable for the replacement cost.
  • Minimum of 2 people required.
  • The experience is subject to availability and prevailing weather conditions.

R 990 per person
Minimum 2 people, maximum 4 people.

Gate & rod fees @ R 250 per person
Rod, reel, line, leader, net & 3 flies @ R 300 per person
Waders & gumboots (limited sizes available) @ R 250 per person

Duration: Full day (+/- 8 Hours)

Start Location: Wild Fly Fishing in the Karoo Shop - Somerset East

Departure Times: Morning start - approximately 8 am

Dropoff Time: Afternoon - approximately 5 pm

Dress: Comfortable clothing, preferably long sleeve & long trousers. Warm / waterproof jacket is a must, even in summer. Polarized sunglasses & hat.

Fitness Level: Fitness level will determine where you fish.

Pack: Fly Fishing tackle: rod, reel, tippet, net, flies, waders and boots, hat, polarized sunglasses, sunscreen, warm jacket, waterproof jacket, hat, food and something to drink.
